The hotel is located in the
“Incas Sacred Valley”, in
Urubamba city of the Cusco Department. The Sacred Valley is 2,850 (9,350 feet) meters above the sea level which made the climate warmer than in the city of Cusco that is 3,450 (11,320 feet) meters making your stay more comfortable because the altitude will not affect you as in
Cusco.
The Incas called the
"Sacred Valley" because it was a place strictly devoted to agriculture and where they cultivated all kinds of products, getting in the
Sacred Valley the highest agricultural production in all the empire. All this thanks to a series of agricultural techniques applied such as the altitudinal distribution in platforms (
andenes) of the plants, land transport among others. Since the time of the
Incas, in the
Sacred Valley are cultivated native plants such as corn, potatoes, olluco, geese among others.
Urubamba is surrounded by large snowy mountains, forests, rivers, streams, crops of different Andean plants that are harvested since the time of the Incas. The climate is very pleasant and healthy, the rainy season is roughly from December to March and in the rest of months the climate is sunny with a hotter temperature.
Urubamba has the particularity to receive more hours of sunshine than other towns of the
Sacred Valley because in
Urubamba the Valley becomes more width and it aligns with the Sun.
You will have the opportunity to discover the beauty of the
Sacred Valley of the Incas with all the wonders it presents. You can hike to see its beautiful scenery and enjoy the fresh air. You can also ride a bike in areas of the town that are very picturesque and where you can find organically grown fruit as apples, peaches, plums, pears. You may also made a variety of tours, such as the tour to
Machu Picchu, which is closer than if you take the same a tour from Cusco city, becoming your trip more relaxed.
The main tourist attractions of the Sacred Valley are very close to us:
- The Inca Huaina Qapac palace, 10-minutes walking from the hotel.
- The start of the "Qapac Ñan" the Inca roads network, 10-minutes walking from the hotel.
- The Inca Sayri Tupac palace and agricultural plataforms (Andenerias), 5 minutes away by car.
- The Inca Centre for Agricultural Research of Moray, 10 minutes away by car.
- The Inca ruins of Chincheros and craft yarn and textiles fair, 15 minutes away by car.
- The Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo and the train station to Machu Picchu, 15 minutes away by car. You can make the trip to Machu Picchu in a calmer and relaxed way from the Sacred Valley you can reduce the travel time to 1.5 hours instead of 4 hours if you depart from Cusco.
- The Inca ruins of Pisac and traditional market, 30 minutes away by car.
